Have a magical birthday indeed, with a friendly sea monster in tropical waters to carry the message. Designed by Afsaneh Tajvidi of JooJoo Paper, a Toronto-based studio where every illustration starts as a hand-painted gouache original before it is printed with gold foil and neon highlights. The result is a scene that feels storybook and a little wondrous: palm trees along the shore, sailing ships in the distance, and a banner held aloft by the long-necked creature as sunbeams break through the clouds above.
It comes with a gold envelope, ready to send someone a birthday wish that is anything but ordinary.
