Six paper crackers, each shaped like its own snowman, with a painted face, scalloped base and a set of gold foil buttons running down the front. No two wear the same outfit: conical hats in pale pink and mint crepe paper topped with gold foil stars, two long red crepe hats finished with a white pompom, and paper crowns in blue and green trimmed in gold foil. A ribbon scarf finishes each one, tied from blue velvet, pink glitter, red chevron, gold metallic, green chevron or red and white stripe.
Pull one open and you will find a paper party hat, a joke, and a small Christmas eraser shaped like a snowman, wreath, mushroom, Christmas tree, bell or mitten, so the fun lasts well past the table.
Meri Meri got its start in 1985, when founder Meredithe Stuart-Smith began making greeting cards by hand and selling them to stores, and the company is credited with creating the children's party product sector that it still designs for today.
