Named after New York's SoHo district, this sketch pad is by Maruman, a Tokyo paper company founded in 1920 by Koichi Iguchi that got its start making drawing books and sketchpads for students.
The 70 sheets inside are acid-free and lightly textured, with enough weight to hold up to watercolor washes as well as pen and colored pencil. Pages are glue-bound along the top edge, so finished work pulls free cleanly without leaving a ragged spine behind.
