Viarco spent years chasing the idea of an “original cap” for its pencils, and this coiled steel spring is the result. Slip it over a sharpened point and it cushions the tip against knocks, keeping it from snapping or smudging the inside of a pencil case during transport.
The helix shape fits most traditional round or hexagonal pencils, so it works as easily with a favorite drafting pencil as with a plain woodcase one tucked into a bag. Viarco has been making pencils in Portugal since 1907, and this small, springy fix reflects the same practical, slightly playful streak found across its line.
Made of stainless steel, it holds its shape through repeated use and won't rust with normal handling.
