A simple stainless steel clip with a six-sided loop at one end, shaped to slide over a hexagonal pencil. Once it's on, the pencil can clip into a shirt pocket, onto a notebook cover, or inside a bag, so it stays where you can find it.
The long arm ends in a rounded tip with a small raised catch that helps it grip. When the pencil gets too short, slide the clip off and move it to the next one.
