Twenty-four pairs of vintage colour wheels fill this matching game, each round card drawn from the work of color theorists working across more than two centuries. Flip two cards at a time and the pleasure is twofold: the hunt for a match, and the chance to linger on each diagram, from tidy twelve-part wheels to flower-shaped color maps.
Roomytown's design team in Bath, UK restores and adapts original prints sourced from flea markets and old book shops, and here they have reworked historic color studies into a set of 48 round illustrated cards. The cards are stored in a flip-top, card-hinged box, so the game packs away as neatly as it plays.
It is a quiet, thoughtful way to spend an evening, good for a solo shuffle through color history or a shared game with anyone who likes pattern and palette as much as winning.
