Lamy Safari Fountain Pen - Charcoal / Umbra, Fine

$40.00

Designed by Wolfgang Fabian and unveiled at the Frankfurt Fair in 1980, the Safari is Lamy's signature fountain pen and one of its best known designs. This colorway wears a matte charcoal finish, with the brand's trademark ink view window along the barrel and a spring-steel clip strong enough to hold onto a notebook or shirt pocket.

The fine steel nib gives a crisp, dependable line that suits everyday notes and small handwriting equally well, and the triangular grip section guides your fingers into place without you having to think about it. It takes Lamy's proprietary ink cartridges or an optional converter for bottled ink, and comes with one blue cartridge so it's ready to write right out of the box.

Lamy has made pens in Heidelberg, Germany since Josef Lamy founded the company in 1930, and the Safari was built to win over the 10 to 15-year-old market before it went on to become a workhorse favorite well past the classroom.
