Designed by Hiroko Kubota, the cover wraps the book in a hushed dusk meadow, its sky sliding from deep blue at the top through soft pink and orange along the horizon. A pale cat holds one end of a string telephone while a dark wolf answers from across the grass, and a tiny mouse rides a unicycle back and forth along the line between them, with a crescent moon, scattered stars, and a shooting star drifting overhead.

Inside, the layout follows the familiar Hobonichi Cousin format in a HON's built-in hardcover, so there is no separate cover to add. Pages open completely flat thanks to thread-stitch binding, and each day gets its own page of light 3.7mm grid on thin Tomoe River paper, with a quote tucked into the footer and a small monthly calendar for quick reference. Monthly and vertical weekly spreads round out the planning pages, and two ribbon markers, one navy and one cream, keep your place.

The year 2027 is stamped in foil on the spine, so it is easy to pick out on a shelf alongside other editions.
