Designed by Emily Lex, this workbook holds twelve classic Christmas scenes, already sketched in pencil and ready for color. Santa with his sack of gifts, a letter tied up in red and white twine, a little tree in a blue-and-white pot, and a red truck loaded with presents all wait on the page, among others.
The spiral binding lets the book lie flat while you work, and the paper underneath is thick enough to hold water without buckling. Each illustration comes with a finished example to reference, the colors to mix, and step-by-step directions, so a page comes together in about thirty minutes.
Lex started her studio in the small coastal town of Gig Harbor, Washington, in 2019. The lay-flat, spiral-bound format began with her workbooks, which were the first of their kind sold anywhere when she introduced them.
