Choward's lemon mints come from C. Howard Company in Bellport, New York, the same candy maker behind the well-known violet mints. They're pale yellow squares, each stamped with the Choward's name, and they taste of lemon oil with a little tartness from citric acid.
The mints come in a slim yellow pack with black script lettering that has hardly changed in decades. It fits easily in a coat pocket or desk drawer, and it's a nice small extra to tuck in with a card.
