Notebooks: The Student, The Author, The Artist

Notebooks: The Student, The Author, The Artist

Notebooks are the vessel through which learning, creating, and storytelling come to life. Notebooks are timeless because these actions are fundamental to the human experience. There is a student, artist, and author in all of us – notebooks help us develop and express these aspects of ourselves.

Keeping History Alive with Wax Seals

Keeping History Alive with Wax Seals

Wax seals date back to before the invention of pen and paper but they didn't gain popularity until the Middle Ages. They were an integral part of signing an official document and sending/receiving letters to ensure that a document or letter wasn't tampered with during its journey. Seals had unique designs such as a coat of arms or emblem that identified the owner which carried the same weight and authority now as a written signature. Typically a seal was destroyed if the owner of the seal died, which is why so few original seals exist today.

Though it can be a habit that proves hard in our world.

National Stamp Collecting Month

National Stamp Collecting Month

It's hard to believe that nearly two hundred years ago stamps were first created and today we have an entire month dedicated to celebrating them.  Throughout October, philatelists (the original term given to stamp collectors) celebrate National Stamp Collecting month. While some chase stamps monetary values, many choose to chase the stories behind their collection and honor the history of stamps.
